Mongolian Tea Pot

About

The Mongolian tea pot drew its inspiration from the tradition of hot pot in Asia. Mongolian hot pot consists of a simmering metal pot of stock in the middle of a dining table. Raw vegetables, noodles, meats and spices are thrown into the pot and when cooked are removed with chop sticks or ladles.

The Mongolian hot pot enhances the dining experience by making it interactive, fun and communal. These elements were the inspirations for this tea pot. The objective of the project was to design a tea pot that would facillitate a fun and communal tea drinking experience. The tea pot was designed to be used on a dining or coffee table. This allows tea preparation to become part of everyday social interactions instead of being confined to the kitchen.
