Our team developed strategies to increase adoption and retention rates of Google Business Solutions tools, with a focus on small to medium companies.
Despite Google's reputation and low pricing, their Business Solutions tools were experiencing low adoption and retention rates with small and medium-sized businesses. User research of potential, existing and previous users was conducted to identify consumer needs and underlying issues. Research analysis resulted in the identification of a major barrier to adoption and retention:
A lack of marketing knowledge and strategy among small businesses.
Solutions
Small businesses lacked the marketing experience to develop a well-defined marketing strategy. This resulted in the tools being used ineffectively, causing low retention rates. Google's documentation focused on functionality and provided little marketing assistance.
